Two of the greatest stories ever written be The total out of the brook of doorkeeper and The Tell-Tale flavor by Edgar Allan Poe. Poe uses common themes in both The get off of the House of Usher and The Tell-Tale Heart which are clear-sightedness of the senses and creepy settings. In The F wholly of the House Usher the fabricators friend, Roderick has a disease that causes him to have very crafty senses. He suffered a lot from a morbid acuteness of the senses (Poe, 480). Roderick burn only when split certain clothing, couldnt smell flowers or be in sunlight, and could only eat insipid foods. Poe uses this characteristic because it is unordinary and variant of shivery at the same prison term. This is not the only falsehood where Poe uses acute senses to creep out h is audience. When the narrator in The Fall of the House of Usher arrives at Rodericks house it happens to be very creepy and scary. I looked upon the scene before me -upon the mere house, and the simple landscape features of the sports stadium upon the bleak walls upon t he vacant windows(Poe, 476). Rodericks house! is introduced as this induct that is unwelcoming and creepy. By doing this Poe sets the mood that follows throughout the rest of the story. As readers we are prepared for what happens in the rest of the story because of the comment of the house. The narrator in The Tell-Tale Heart kills an old man in his direction in pitch swarthy darkness. His room was as black as pitch with the thick darkness (Poe, 1).
